Captain Closeout was founded in 2017 by Alex Sottile, after several years as a multi-line sales rep. The company’s journey began with humble beginnings—Alex personally sold and delivered closeout boardshorts from his car to surf shops across Florida.
Over the past eight years, we continuously reinvested all profits into expanding inventory, increasing warehouse space, diversifying product categories, and opening our own discount retail stores.
Today, Captain Closeout operates two retail locations and has franchised two additional stores under the name “Captain’s Closet.” We supply products to over 500 retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, South America, and the Caribbean.
We specialize in acquiring factory over-runs, closeouts, overstock, inventory from stores going out of business, canceled orders, entire clothing brands that are shutting down, and company liquidations. All the products we source are consolidated and redistributed to our retail locations and wholesale customers.
Our inventory primarily features clothing and gear for fishing, hunting, surfing, diving, outdoor adventures, resort wear, and beachwear. Our wholesale customers include surf shops, beach shops, tackle shops, marinas, dive shops, boutiques, and outlet stores.
